ORIGIN

Lime essential oil is obtained by cold-pressing the peel of the lime, a citrus fruit of the Citrus genus, belonging to the Rutaceae family. This fruit grows primarily in tropical climates and originated in Asia from a cross between the lemon and citron trees.

The fruit is harvested while still green to maintain its properties; once ripe, the lime turns yellowish and completely loses its acidity, becoming very sweet.
